We believe in a vision of ending child poverty in Wisconsin. We believe that the people of Wisconsin, working together, can cut child poverty in half in the next ten years. Seeking greater equity, our vision includes cutting racial disparities in child poverty in half. We are committed to evidence-based evaluation of progress.

Because we are a group of people who are concerned about the welfare, protected help, and safety of other people; children are at the fore front here and they need our help for the future. we are religious and spiritual people who are compassionate about this issue of child proverty here in the State of Wisconsin. We need to do something to correct the course of children in proverty.

Because poverty is cyclical. If we can break the cycle now, it will help everyone.

I taught in a school with diverse socio-economic needs ( in a suburb). If we don’t care for our children, where is our hope in the future? What does that say about us as humans? At the end of our lives, what “good” excuse can we give for not caring for the vulnerable in our society?

Children are our future and our responsibility is to care for all of our children. Childhood poverty in a nation as wealthy as ours is a result of a failed system of healthcare, education, and opportunity for all. The long term results of ending childhood poverty will be a decrease in crime, better citizenship, and healthy communities.

There are kids in my daughter’s school who don’t have enough food, clothing, and access to medical care. We live in nice community and there are still kids who are in poverty. It is present in all communities – even when it’s not as noticeable.

Children are our future. They need their basic needs met before they can grow emotionally or be educated into our future leaders. This is for all of us!

Poverty is a blight on humanity. It robs people of hope and a future. We have more than enough to share God’s gifts, freely given, to everyone. That is what we are called to do. Anything less, is sacrilege.

President Brisco said it well—every child should experience wonder and the opportunity to grow into their God-given potential.

They are our future and they deserve a good foundation. There are too many factors we can’t control, at least let them not have to think about food.
